Jan Powell - Board President

Jan has lived in Hemet for over 30 years and holds several teaching credentials for working with students who have severe disabilities as well as school administration. Jan brings 28 years of experience working with children with special needs and their families to our board.

 

Margaret Nambiar, M.D. - member

Margaret is an ophthalmologist who has been practicing for 26 years. Dr. Nambiar lives in Hemet with her husband Mani, who is also a physician. Dr. Nambiar comes to the board with the experience of managing a business, as a mother of a child with a disability, and as a physician having examined the eyes of many children and adults with disabilities.  

 

Joe Marabito - treasurer

Joe is a certified fitness trainer and previous martial arts instructor. Joe has worked as a trainer for the last 17+ years and has trained numerous people with disabilities and also has extensive knowledge in gym management. Joe brings to our board the experience of a fitness/martial arts instructor, the knowledge of managing a gym, and as the father of a child with a disability.

 

Felice Connolly - member

Felice has a college degree in accounting from a University in the Philippines. She is also a member of the Riverside County In House Supportive Services Advisory Committee. Felice has volunteered for several organizations in the field of disabilities, and is a strong advocate for her daughter who has a disability. 

 

Debi Young - member

Debi Young has lived in the Hemet-San Jacinto Valley for most of her life. Debi is a Certified Personal Trainer along with several certifications including Kick Boxing, Aquatic Fitness, Group Fitness, Silver Sneakers and more. Debi also has management experience in Fitness Training and as an Instructor Coordinator. 

 

Howard Lieberman, M.D. - member

Dr. Lieberman holds several Bachelor Degrees and graduated from the University of Missouri Medical School with a Doctorate in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Lieberman has been practicing medicine since 1961 and is an active member in several medical societies. Dr. Lieberman has also served as Team Physician for the football team of Mt. San Jacinto Junior College.

Sue Marabito

Sue is a Certified Fitness Trainer. Sue has also worked as a clinical research associate in oncology for Dartmouth College, and as an office manager for 2 doctors. Sue is a licensed Ordained Minister and served as an associate Pastor in two churches with management and outreach services, and was strongly involved in youth ministries. Sue is the mother of 6 children, including Joey who has Down Syndrome.

  

Erica Sandoval

Erica is certified in Youth Fitness Training and is working towards a credential in Fitness Therapy with emphasis on clients with special needs. Erica has taken several courses in child development and behavioral management including Applied Behavior Analysis most widely used for children diagnosed with Autism. Erica is a Massage Technician and a Certified Grant Writer. Erica has also been an active board member in her daughters' schools. Erica has two children including Unity who has Autism.
